  Uisge beatha is a Scottish (Gaelic) word that means "the water of life" which refers to the Whiskey or Whiskey of Scotland. We offer an extensive selection of Single Malt Scotch as well as a fine selection of American whiskeys, bourbons, and rye at our custom made British pub style corner bar.   HIGHLANDS DISTRICT: SPEYSIDE

CARDHU 12 year old $ 8.75 rate 72     
  Nose: Light, appetizing, hints of greengage and a gentle touch of smoke.
  Body: Light and smooth.
  Palate: Light to medium in flavor, emphasis on malty sweetness and vanilla.
  Finish: A lingering, syrupy sweetness, but also a rounder dryness with late hints of peat.
 
CRAGGANMORE 12 year old $ 9.25 rate 90     
  Nose: The most complex aroma of any malt. Its bouquet is astonishingly fragrant
and delicate, with sweetish notes of cut grass and herbs.
  Body: Light to medium, but very firm and smooth.
  Palate: Delicate, clean, restrained, with a huge range of herbal, flowery notes.
  Finish: Long.
 
DALWHINNIE 15 year old $ 8.50 rate 76     
  Nose: Very aromatic, dry, faintly phenolic, lightly peaty.
  Body: Firm, slightly oily.
  Palate: Remarkably smooth, long-lasting flavor development. Aromatic, heather-honey notes
give way to cut-grass, malty sweetness, which intensifies to a sudden burst of peat.
  Finish: A long crescendo.
 
GLENFIDDICH Special Reserve No age statement $ 8.00 rate 75     
  Nose: Light, fresh but sweet, appetizing, fruity, pear-like.
  Body: Light, lean, firm, smooth.
  Palate: Dryish, pear-like, more fruitiness as flavor develops.
  Finish: Restrained, aromatic.
 
GLENLIVET 12 year old $ 8.00 rate 85     
  Nose: Remarkably flowery, clean and soft.
  Body: Light to medium, firm, smooth.
  Palate: Flowery, peachy, notes of vanilla, delicate balance between sweetness and malty dryness.
  Finish: Restrained, long, gently warming.
 
MACALLAN 12 year old $ 9.50 rate 91     
  Nose: Sherry, honey, flowery notes.
  Body: Full, smooth.
  Palate: The first hints of flowering currant. Altogether more expressive.
  Finish: Slightly more rounded.
   
MACALLAN Gran Reserva 18 year old $ 13.00 rate 95     
  Nose: Rich sherry at first. Then malty nuttiness. Raisins, dates. Finally floweriness.
  Body: Big, oily.
  Palate: Very dry, bitter orange and ginger marmalade on well-done toast. Buttery, syrupy maltiness, developing to nutty, sherry sweetness. Strictly for the lover of powerfully
oaked whiskies.
  Finish: Richly fruity. Raisiny. Warming.

 
 
HIGHLANDS DISTRICT: NORTH HIGHLANDS 

GLENMORANGIE 10 year old $ 9.25 rate 80     
  Nose: Spicy, with some flowery sweetness, fresh, a whiff of the sea, enticing.
  Body: On the light side of medium, but with some viscosity.
  Palate: Spicy, flowery, and malty-sweet tones that are creamy, almost buttery.
  Finish: Long and rounded.

 
HIGHLANDS DISTRICT: WESTERN HIGHLANDS

OBAN 14 year old $ 9.25 rate 79     
  Nose: “Pebbles on the beach”. A whiff of the sea, but also a touch of fresh peat, and some maltiness.
  Body: Firm, smooth, slightly viscous.
  Palate: Deceptively delicate at first. Perfumy. Faint hint of fruity seaweed. Lightly
waxy, smoky. Dry.
  Finish: Aromatic, smooth, appetizing.

 
 
ISLEY DISTRICT: NORTH SHORE

BUNNAHABHAIN 12 year old $ 8.75 rate 77     
  Nose: Remarkably fresh, sweet, sea-air aroma.
  Body: Light to medium, firm.
  Palate: Gentle, clean, nutty-malty sweetness.
  Finish: Very full flavor development. A refreshing quality.

 
ISLEY DISTRICT: SOUTH SHORE

LAGAVULIN 16 year old $ 10.50 rate 95     
  Nose: All the elements, sherry.
  Body: Full, smooth, firm.
  Palate: The dryness is at first offset by the sweetness of the sherry character. Oily, grassy and salty.
  Finish: A huge, powerful, bear hug of peat.
 
LAPHROAIG 10 year old $ 9.00 rate 86     
  Nose: Medicinal, phenolic, seaweedy, with a hint of estery sweetness.
  Body: Medium, oily.
  Palate: Seaweedy, salty, oily.
  Finish: Round and very dry.
 

 
HIGHLANDS ISLAND: ORKENY

HIGHLAND PARK 12 year old $ 9.00 rate 90     
  Nose: Smoky, “garden bonfire” sweetness, heathery, malty, hint of sherry.
  Body: Medium, exceptionally smooth.
  Palate: Succulent, with smoky dryness, heather-honey sweetness, and maltiness.
  Finish: Teasing, heathery, delicious.

 
HIGHLANDS ISLAND: JURA 

ISLE OF JURA

  Nose: Oily, lightly piny, earthy, salty, dry.
  Body: Light, slightly oily, soft.
  Palate: Sweetish, malty, oily, slowly developing a slight island dryness and saltiness.
  Finish: A little malty sweetness and some saltiness.
